Bears selected Michigan State OG Luke Newman with the No. 195 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Newman (6'3/212) got his start at FCS’s Holy Cross. He didn’t play much as a freshman but started the next three seasons at left tackle for the Crusaders. Newman was then called up to the FBS level by Michigan State, where he started one season at left guard. Newman has the build of a guard and isn’t likely to get a short at tackle in the pros, but his ability to play the position still showcases his versatility. Having only played one season on the interior, he will need a year or two to learn the ropes as a backup in Chicago.
