Cardinals selected Temple DE Michael Dogbe with the No. 249 overall pick in the 2019 NFL Draft.
Dogbe (6'3/284) didn’t become a full-time starter until his senior year, earning first-team Athletic Conference honors with 72 tackles and leading Temple with 12.5 tackles for loss, seven sacks, and three forced fumbles. NFL.com’s Lance Zierlein compared Dogbe to Rams DL John Franklin-Myers. Dogbe will compete for a sub-package role in Vance Joseph’s 3-4 scheme.

NFL Draft Scout’s Ric Serritella ranks Temple DT Michael Dogbe among the underrated defensive prospects in the 2019 NFL Draft class.
As Serritella notes, Dogbe is one of the strongest players in this class, and one of the reasons for that is his strength; he bench pressed 505 pounds last summer. “In addition to being a physical freak, the New Jersey native has been a strong, physical presence in the middle of the defensive line, providing a run-stuffing presence for the Owls,” he writes. Dogbe is likely a late-round pick -- possibly a priority free agent -- but the 6-foot-3, 280-pound defender should get a good look as a rotation player at the next level.

The Draft Network’s Benjamin Solak tagged Temple DT Michael Dogbe as a combine snub.
Dogbe (6'3/280) was not on the NFL’s list of combine invites released on Thursday, failing to make that 338-player cut. The 6-foot-3, 280-pounder performed well during the East-West Shrine Game in January, but even that was not enough to push him fully onto the radar of the pros. Solack writes that Dogbe is “as strong as an ox” and would have been worth watching on the bench press if nothing else. He has previously been videotaped benching 505 pounds. Dogbe will look to impress on pro day, now, but his being left out in the combine cold is not a particularly encouraging sign for his prospects of landing on Day 3.

The Draft Bible’s Ric Serritella passes along that Temple DT Michael Dogbe has yet to receive an invitation to the NFL Scouting Combine.
The NFL has yet to release its full list of invitations -- they’ve been trickling out in dribs and drabs from players on social media -- and it’s possible that Dogbe could be a late addition -- we saw this with UCF LB Shaquem Griffin a year ago -- but at this juncture, anyway, it appears that the 6-foot-3, 280-pounder is being left on the curb from the combine. He earlier participated in East-West Shrine Game festivities, turning in several noteworthy plays over the course of the practice week. Should no combine invitation be forthcoming, Dogbe’s lone chance to impress in testing will come during Temple’s spring pro day.

The Draft Network’s Jon Ledyard passes along that Temple DT Michael Dogbe “erupted for several big plays” during Wednesday’s East-West Shrine Game practice.
“An undersized interior defensive lineman, Dogbe was highly disruptive and energetic, blowing through gaps and wreaking havoc behind the line of scrimmage,” Ledyard writes, adding that the 6-foot-3, 280-pounder “even saw a couple reps off the edge, showing good hand usage to corner.” The public writ large will have a chance to watch Dogbe on Saturday as he looks to close out this small step in the draft process in strong fashion.

Temple redshirt senior DL Michael Dogbe has accepted an invitation to the East-West Shrine Game.
Dogbe (6'3/280) was a first team All-AAC performer this season, as he tallied 69 total tackles, 12.5 tackles for loss, 7.0 sacks and three forced fumbles for the Owls. The redshirt senior made Bruce Feldman’s list of “athletic freaks” ahead of the 2018 season, and he’s ranked 24th among draft-eligible defensive tackles by DraftScout.com. The combination of athleticism and production should put Dogbe in a good position come draft time.
  • Defensive End
Bruce Feldman of The Athletic lists Temple redshirt senior Michael Dogbe among his “freaks” for the 2018 season.
“At 6-4, 280, Dogbe (26 tackles last year) is the rare defensive tackle who is so chiseled, he looks like the mannequins they use in the team’s lobby to show off their uniforms,” Feldman writes. A picture is attached to the article, and Feldman is not being hyperbolic. In addition to looking photoshopped, Dogbe also ran a 4.85 second 40 yard dash this summer, and he put up 37 reps on the bench press of 225 pounds. If he can have a semblance of production compared to his athleticism, he has a chance to be a draft pick next year.
