NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports the Panthers interviewed Colts WRs coach Mike Groh for their offensive coordinator vacancy.
Groh was the Eagles’ offensive coordinator for two seasons before getting fired after 2020. He followed Frank Reich to Indianapolis and has played an important role in constructing the offense. The Panthers are also interviewing Vikings OC Klint Kubiak and Texans passing game coordinator Pep Hamilton.

Colts announced ex-Eagles OC Mike Groh as WRs coach.
Kevin Patullo, the team’s previous WRs coach, will stay on staff with a new title. Reich first worked with Groh as Philadelphia’s wide receivers coach in 2016 then hand in hand during the team’s Championship run the following year. He was promoted to OC once Reich left to take on Indy’s head-coaching vacancy. Expect Groh to work closely with Reich for play-calling purposes this upcoming season.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports the Eagles are expected to part ways Thursday with OC Mike Groh and WR Carson Walch.
Coach Doug Pederson noted Wednesday, “Yes, both those guys will be back,” when asked about the status of Groh and Walch. It’s tough to be too harsh on the Eagles’ offensive coaches considering the plethora of injuries they had, specifically at the WR position. Still, basically every WR on the roster underachieved this season, particularly second-round rookie JJ Arcega-Whiteside. Overall, the Eagles ranked 12th in scoring and 22nd in yards per play in 2019.

Eagles hired Mike Groh as WRs coach.
He’s replacing Greg Lewis, who was fired shortly after the 2016 season. Groh will have his work cut out for him trying to salvage one of the league’s worst receiving groups. This will be Groh’s third stint as an NFL WRs coach after previous stops in Chicago and Los Angeles.

Eagles promoted WRs coach Mike Groh to offensive coordinator.
The Eagles also interviewed RBs coach Duce Staley for the job, but they are going with Groh. It may not mean much in the grand scheme of things as Doug Pederson will continue to run the offense while both Groh and Staley have big roles in game-planning, but it is a big career step for Groh, whose only other coordinating experience came at Virginia in the mid-2000s.
