Oregon State redshirt senior TE Noah Togiai caught eight passes for 76 yards and a score in Saturday’s 35-34 win over Arizona State.
Togiai (6'4/246) had been waiting for a game like this all year. Prior to Saturday’s game, Togiai had not caught more than five passes in a game this year and only had one other game this season with a touchdown. Togiai notched season highs in receptions, yards, and tied in touchdowns.
  • Tight End
The Athletic’s Tyson Alger said Oregon State redshirt senior TE Noah Togiai “could be in line for a solid 2019 campaign.”
Togiai (6'4/241) caught 34 passes two years ago, but injuries slowed him down in 2018 and that trend has unfortunately continued. The redshirt senior was ruled “out for a while” earlier this offseason after suffering a foot injury at spring practice. Assuming he’s ready for the opener, Togiai has the potential to be the team’s third or fourth leader in receiving in what will be a make it or break it season for his NFL future.
  • Tight End
The Oregonian’s Nick Daschel passes along that Oregon State redshirt senior TE Noah Togiai will be “out for a while” due to a foot injury he sustained during Monday’s practice.
Injuries have plagued Togiai throughout his career in Corvallis, specifically knee injuries. The 6-foot-4, 241-pounder has never appeared in more than nine games during a season and has just one campaign under his belt (2017) in which he logged more than 100 total receiving yards. While we’re relieved that Togiai’s current issue is not knee-related, that he is already nursing something is a less-than-palatable development.
  • Tight End
Oregon State redshirt junior tight end Noah Togiai participated in pregame warmups ahead of Saturday’s game against Arizona.
Togiai has been out since August as a result of the knee injury he suffered during fall camp, and knee issues have plagued him throughout his Oregon State career. When healthy the redshirt junior is Oregon State’s best pass-catching option, so if there are no hiccups he could be in line for a solid 2018 debut.
  • Tight End
Oregon State is hopeful that redshirt junior TE Noah Togiai (knee) will be able to play against Arizona on Saturday.
Togiai (6'4/241) has yet to play this season due to his ongoing rehabilitation of a knee injury sustained near the end of August camp. His return would be a welcome one for the Beavers in a potential home upset spot against Arizona on Saturday. Last season, the redshirt junior hauled in 34 passes for 461 yards and two touchdowns prior to his 2017 campaign being cut short by (you guessed it) a knee injury. He’s dealt with knee issues for much of his collegiate career.
  • Tight End
Oregon State HC Jonathan Smith told reporters that there’s an “outside chance” that redshirt junior TE Noah Togiai could play on Saturday against Arizona.
Togiai was scheduled to miss at least a month with his knee injury, so coming back would be beating that mark by a week or so. He’s the best pass-catching option on the team, so a return would be a big boon for the Beavers and their passing game. If Togiai can’t go, Quinn Smith and Teagan Quitoriano should continue to operate as the tight ends for Oregon State.
  • Tight End
The NCAA granted Oregon State redshirt sophomore TE Noah Togiai (ACL) a medical hardship waiver.
The 6-foot-4, 214-pounder’s 2016 season ended in early September after he tore his ACL in OSU’s second game. A former basketball player, Togiai had a 4-31-1 line in last year’s opener. If healthy this fall, he holds some sleeper intrigue as a plus-athlete in an improving offense.
  • Tight End
Oregon State redshirt sophomore TE Noah Togiai had five catches for 95 yards in Saturday’s 35-32 win over Portland State.
The 6-foot-4, 246-pounder is making up for lost time after his 2016 season ended with a torn ACL in Week 2. The former basketball player has put up a nice 12-162-1 line through two games. He’s making good on his offseason sleeper hype and appears to be one of Jake Luton’s most-trusted targets.
  • Tight End
Oregon State freshman TE Noah Togiai indicated that he will leave the basketball team to focus exclusively on football.
Togiai announced his choice on Twitter, writing (in part), “It was my decision in the end and [basketball HC Wayne Tinkle] DID NOT make me choose one sport.” The 6-foot-4, 214-pound freshman logged 10 catches for 73 yards and a touchdown over six games during the 2015 campaign.
  • Tight End
Oregon State redshirt junior Noah Togiai is not participating in spring practices.
Togiai is being counted on as one of the top playmakers for the Beavers in 2018, but he’s battled knee injuries in back-to-back seasons, and even if he was at full strength they’d likely want Togiai to take it easy this spring. He’s coming off a 34-4612 season for OSU, and those numbers could go way up if he’s able to stay healthy -- and if Oregon State gets better quarterback play.
