The No. 182, No. 189, and No. 215 overall picks are now under contract in Los Angeles after multiple players received restructured contracts this offseason to make room against the cap for the rookie class. All three players should be on the outside looking in as far as expected playing time goes in 2023 but have the opportunity to work their way up the depth chart when camp opens in under three weeks.

Among the nation’s top EDGE transfers in 2022, Mathis last season was second on the Cornhuskers with 3.5 sacks and added five tackles for loss and 50 total tackles with two pass breakups. Before coming to Nebraska, Mathis played 38 games over four seasons at TCU, where he was regularly among the team leaders in tackles and tackles for loss. Mathis, 24, profiles as a likely special teams player with the Rams in 2023.
