With kicker Shayne Graham, a franchise player in 2009, likely to soon no longer be employed by the franchise, the Bengals are making advance plans for 2010 by signing Dave Rayner.
Rayner kicked for the Bengals during two games in 2008, when Graham was injured.
The former Michigan State kicker also had stints with the Colts, Packers, Chiefs, and Chargers. He most recently played for the Redskins during the 2009 preseason.
The Bengals also have formally announced the acquisition of receiver Matt Jones, a first-round pick in 2005 who was out of football in 2009 after being cut by the Jaguars.
