The Bengals had 19 tryout players at this weekend’s minicamp. Four of them beat the odds and earned spots on the roster.
The team has announced that Louisville kicker Jonathan Brown, Utah linebacker Gionni Paul, Florida guard/center Trip Thurman, and Marshall cornerback Corey Tindal have been signed following their minicamp.
Paul transferred to Utah from Miami (Fla.), sitting out the 2013 season. He recorded the slowest 40-yard dash (5.10 seconds) of any linebacker at the Scouting Combine, according to Nolan Nawrocki’s draft guide.
For Paul and the rest of the players who were signed, the odds remain stacked against them. Of the 90 guys on the roster, 37 won’t be when the regular season starts.
