Golf’s an individual sport, but a reality show has added a team dynamic that makes some retired NFL players sound like they’re talking about football.

The Golf Channel’s Big Break will feature retired NFL players this season, pairing players including Jerry Rice and Tim Brown with male and female golfers trying to earn tour cards.

I have been a fan of Big Break for a long time, and I wanted to experience the pressure and excitement of competing on this series first-hand,” Rice said in a release. “The nerves we all faced on this show – knowing that everything potentially was on the line for your team with one golf shot – are experiences I will never forget.”

In addition to Rice and Brown, the show will also feature Marc Bulger, Al Del Greco, Chris Doleman and Mark Rypien, all with single-digit handicaps.

While the golfers they’re teamed with are trying to reach the pro tours, the NFL players are playing for $50,000 donations to their charities.

The show was filmed in Puerto Rico, and will premiere on Oct. 8.
