If Ronaiah Tuiasosopo wants to contact Manti Te’o any time soon, he’ll have to do it via some method other than Twitter.

Te’o has deleted his Twitter account, and ESPN reports that he’s off Twitter temporarily because he’s putting all his focus on the NFL draft.

It wouldn’t be surprising if, when NFL teams talk to him this month at the Scouting Combine, they urge Te’o to get off Twitter (and other forms of social media) permanently. When you’ve become America’s most disliked football player because of a relationship that began through social media, you’re probably better off staying far away from social media.

In addition to wanting to see Te’o work out, what NFL teams will want to see from Te’o in the 11 weeks until the draft is an indication that he’s not going to be a distraction off the field. Getting off Twitter is one small step toward that.
