NICKTATOR STILL LIKES HIS LITTLE DEBBIES

So I’m perusing the latest issue of Sporting News, which has Alabama coach Nick Saban and a few of his players on the cover, and I decide to take a look at the article, given PFT’s history with the Nicktator. Those of you who have been coming here since 2005 know that Saban became notorious in Miami due in part to his love of Little Debbie snack cakes, a relatively low-cost, relatively high-fat-and-calorie-content treat that so many of us lugged to school in a brown paper bag or a Crest Team lunch box. (My own favorite was the Devil Squares; I always viewed Swiss Cake Rolls to be a cheap knock off of the superior HoHo. In my later years as a no-income law student, I developed a hankering for the Nutty Bars and the highly underrated Star Crunch.) [UPDATE: I forgot about Fudge Rounds. Those are fudging good.] And thus I was delighted to see, at page 33, an image of Nick enjoying a cup o’ Joe and an Oatmeal Creme Pie -- including a caption reiterating Saban’s passion for them. On the same page, Saban also is shown scarfing down a couple of pieces of pizza and preparing to devour a strip of fried fat that also apparently had some bacon on it. How in the hell does this guy stay thin? He’s 57, and he eats like he’s 18. Apparently, being a real jerk is a good workout. (And we say that as lovingly as possible.)
