The Raiders haven’t made any splashy additions this offseason and continued the trend with their most recent signing.

Oakland announced that they have signed wide receiver Duke Calhoun to a contract. Calhoun took part in the team’s voluntary minicamp this week.

Calhoun made the Giants as an undrafted free agent out of Memphis in 2010 after earning nearly daily praise from Giants coaches for his work in training camp. He wound up catching one pass during nine games that season while playing mostly on special teams. The coaches like him a lot in training camp last year as well, but a hamstring injury led to Calhoun being waived/injured before the start of the season.

Calhoun will probably have to excel on special teams to earn a spot on the Raiders roster this summer. They haven’t added any wide receivers in free agency, but have good depth at the position with Darrius Heyward-Bey, Jacoby Ford, Denarius Moore and Louis Murphy.
