Former NFL quarterback Tim Rattay, who previously has declared his coming affiliation with the UFL via his Twitter page, announced earlier this afternoon that the UFL draft is occurring today, and that players will be signed soon. Some of you have asked why the UFL isn’t publicizing the process. Apparently, it’s not a draft in the classic sense. It’s more like calling “shotgun” or “dibs,” with the four teams trying to balance out the players. Nation Hahn of UFL Access explains that prior affiliations between players and head coaches/assistant coaches will have a role in this regard, too. And, thus, the upstart league has squandered an opportunity to create some buzz during one of the few sssslow spots on the NFL calendar.
