Ravens among nine teams starting rookie minicamps Friday

The NFL’s version of freshman orientation commences Friday for nine clubs, each of whom will have its rookies in for minicamp practices at its facilities.

The Ravens, Falcons, Jaguars, Dolphins, Vikings, Patriots, Steelers, Buccaneers and Redskins will all work with their rookies from Friday, May 3 through Sunday, May 5, the NFL said Monday. The other 23 NFL clubs will have their rookie minicamps from Friday, May 10 through Sunday, May 12.

According to the CBA, minicamp practices are to be non-contact. Players cannot wear pads.

As a resource, we’ve compiled offseason workout schedules for all 32 teams, with NFL-furnished dates for minicamps and organized team practice activity (OTAs). Teams will begin OTAs -- which can include 11-on-11 drills and the like but no live contact -- at various points in May after rookie minicamps, with mandatory veteran minicamps occurring in June.
