Kickers usually only get scapegoated after losses.
But after missing a pair of field goals in last Thursday’s win over the Falcons, the Saints have parted ways with Zach Hocker.
According to Nick Underhill of the New Orleans Advocate, the Saints are replacing Hocker with Kai Forbath.
Hocker was 9-of-13 on field goals in six games for the Saints, and missed an extra point.
Forbath was cut by Washington in part of declining distance on kickoffs. But he’s an 87 percent career kicker of field goals, and that’s what the Saints are hoping for.
