Terrell Suggs: Ravens look better than we have since winning Super Bowl

After watching linebacker Terrell Suggs jawing with the offense and intercepting a Joe Flacco pass during Wednesday’s practice, Ravens coach John Harbaugh said that it seemed Suggs is officially back after last year’s torn Achilles.

Suggs feels the same way about the Ravens in general. While he and wide receiver Steve Smith just got back in action from their Achilles injuries and several other Ravens are coming off of serious injuries, Suggs says the Ravens already look better than they have since their run to a championship after the 2012 season.

“It feels like everything that we lost last year, we’re getting it all back,” Suggs said, via the team’s website. “We’re getting our swag back, our chemistry. Everything is starting to feel good. Now we’re starting to feel like the Ravens again. All that is key, it’s big, and it goes a long way for morale too. I would have to say since our Super Bowl year and the year before, I think this is the best we’ve looked since then.”

The Ravens were a playoff team and four-point losers to the Patriots in the divisional round after the 2014 season, so it’s not hard to see why having a healthier team would give rise to thoughts of another good run this year. There are reasons to be doubtful, including a tough division and the age of some of those players returning from injury, but it’s not too surprising to hear one of the team’s leaders say the team is on the road to being the team they’ve grown “accustomed to being” over Harbaugh’s time at the helm.
