Tuskers take down the Nighthawks

Last weekend, we didn’t provide our typical UFL update.

Here’s a quick summary. The Las Vegas Locomotives are running away with the thing.

They’ve already nailed down a berth in the championship game (enter Curtis Painter), and it’s now down to the other four teams to produce a sacrificial lamb for the game to be played the weekend after the Great Turkey Massacre of 2010.

On Friday night, the Florida Tuskers made their case for a title-game rematch by shellacking the Omaha Nighthawks, 31-14.

The Tuskers held the Nighthawks to 85 yards of total offense, racing to a 31-0 lead before giving up two garbage-time touchdowns.

The Tuskers were led offensively by quarterback Chris Greisen, who replaced the injured Brooks Bollinger. For the Nighthawks, quarterback Jeff Garcia exited with a calf injury; Matt Gutierrez took his place.
