Steelers selected Miami EDGE Quincy Roche with the No. 216 overall pick in the 2021 NFL Draft.
Roche thoroughly dominated the AAC for three seasons at Temple, accruing 137 tackles, seven PBU, 26.5 sacks and earning 2019 Defensive Player of the Year honors before transferring to Miami for 2020. He handled the jump in competition well, receiving third-team All-ACC honors last year for the Hurricanes. Having garnered interest for his strong performance in one-on-one’s at the Senior Bowl, Roche then flashed a fantastic 4.68 second 40-time, 32.5-inch vertical jump, and 23 bench reps as a plus athlete at his pro day. He isn’t the most fluid player around the edge but his upper body strength helps him to gain leverage over blockers and ultimately make plays. He profiles as a lesser Shaquil Barrett if it all comes together.
