49ers signed UCLA S Qwuantrezz Knight.
A six-year player at various schools, Knight (5’11/195) was named second-team All-Pac 12 by coaches in 2021. In his final season, Knight totaled 65 tackles, 8.5 TFLs, and 2.5 sacks to go with three pass breakups. He has proven to be a terror for opposing rushing attacks, totaling 34 run stops last season per PFF and 37 in 2019. He shows a good jump off the snap but is susceptible to the occasional missed tackle. He has not been nearly as impressive in pass coverage, allowing 128 receptions for 1,272 yards and six scores in his career. Knight is a below-average athlete with a 3.72 relative athletic score and will be fighting for a roster spot in camp.
