Florida State senior DT Marvin Wilson has been ruled out for the remainder of the season after undergoing surgery to address an undisclosed injury.
Wilson (6'5/305) is an important on-field leader for the Seminoles, and losing him for the season is really bad news. The senior defensive tackle did not play in Saturday’s loss to Pittsburgh, and for the season he tallied 17 total tackles, one sack, two tackles for loss, two quarterback hurries and three blocked kicks. Dennis Briggs and Robert Cooper started at the defensive tackle spots against Pittsburgh, and those two along with Fabian Lovett will receive the majority of the available reps moving forward.

ESPN’s Gerry Hamilton and Tom VanHaaren pass along that FSU four-star 2018 verbal DT commit Robert Cooper is interested in Alabama.
Per Hamilton and VanHaaren, Cooper is “intrigued” by how Alabama utilizes the nose guard in their defense. Despite a bit of a wandering eye, the analysts do not see the Seminoles in imminent danger of losing the 6-foot-2, 350-pounder from their current collection of pledges. Cooper has been committed to FSU’s cause since June, 2016. Rivals ranks him as the No. 123 overall prospect for the 2018 cycle.
