T Roman Oben (foot) will not participate at Chargers minicamp this weekend.
DT Jamal Williams (knee) is also out. Both players are expected for training camp.
  • LAC Tackle
There is some concern Chargers LT Roman Oben (foot) could be sidelined through training camp and into the regular season.
If that’s the case, rookie Marcus McNeill would probably start for an offensive line that underachieved in 2005.

Chargers LT Roman Oben, a candidate to start the season on PUP, is now consulting a specialist regarding his injured foot.

    Chargers re-signed T Roman Oben to a two-year contract.
His career has been re-born since leaving Tampa Bay. Oben, 33, has started all 24 games, including playoffs, since joining the Chargers.

  • Chargers T Shane Olivea is day-to-day with a lower back strain.
Olivea went to the sideline with the injury against the Patriots, replaced by rookie Jeromey Clary. Veteran Roman Oben is another option if Olivea is declared out for Week 3. G Mike Goff (knee), S Clinton Hart (hamstring), LB Stephen Cooper (neck strain) and LB Shaun Phillips (quad) appear to have minor injuries.

    Chargers released OT Roman Oben.
The 35-year-old Oben had been serving as the Chargers’ fourth tackle this year. The team intends to bring him back after Week 17.
  • LAC Tackle

Oben has been out since week 13 when he sprained his foot against Kansas City.
