  • BAL Cornerback #39
Georgia Tech CB Tre Swilling (foot) was present going through pre-game warmups in advance of their game against Louisville.
Swilling (6'0/200) was practicing this week and now will make his return from a foot injury that cost him the first two games of the season. A two-year starter, he tied for seventh in the ACC last year with 10 PBU. The honorable-mention All-ACC performer also posted 23 tackles, 11 QB hurries and two TFL en route to a standout season for the Yellow Jackets. His return will be a welcomed sight for a beleaguered Tech secondary that has allowed 270 passing yards per game thus far in 2020.

Draft Analyst’s Tony Pauline writes that Georgia Tech redshirt sophomore CB Tre Swilling “next-level size and athleticism and flashes ball skills.”
While Pauline currently assigns Swilling a third-round grade for next spring should he declare, the analyst believes the 6-foot, 200-pound redshirt sophomore has a chance to bang on the Day 1 door with strong continued development. This past season, the former four-star recruit posted 24 tackles with a sack, an interception, six passes defensed and a fumble forced across 12 games played (11 starts). His father, Pat Swilling, was a standout performer for Georgia Tech during the 80’s -- he holds the single-season program sack record with 15 -- and was inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame in 2009.

Georgia Tech signed four-star 2017 CB Tre Swilling.
Swilling made an initial commitment to the Yellow Jackets this past August before taking the plunge for good. Rivals ranks him as the No. 31 cornerback prospect in the 2017 class, while Scout.com notes that the 6-foot, 185-pounder consistently showcased a high level of football intelligence at Brother Martin (Louisiana). As the Scout team puts it, Swilling “seems to see things before they happen and he knows how to put himself into place to make a play.”
