Dolphins CB Trill Williams cleared to resume football activities.
Williams was claimed off waivers from the Saints after being released via failed physical. A torn ACL in preseason of the 2022 season cost him a prime opportunity to contribute to a relatively weak depth chart in the secondary for the Dolphins. He was cleared to resume football activities towards the end of organized team activities and says he feels “fantastic.” Snaps should be hard to come by moving forward considering the addition of cornerback Jalen Ramsey to join Xavien Howard on the perimeter.

Dolphins claimed CB Trill Williams off waivers from the Saints.
Williams was cut over the weekend for failing his physical with New Orleans. He’s still clearly recovering from offseason ankle surgery, which also forced him to plummet as a UDFA following this year’s draft. His participation and health for training camp is a true question mark.

Saints signed Syracuse CB Trill Williams.
Williams (6'1/208) enters the NFL with some positional ambiguity. Williams contributed at Syracuse for three seasons, playing anywhere from outside cornerback, slot cornerback, and safety. In 2020 specifically, Williams played a fair amount as a nickel, which makes sense for someone a bit bulky like him since it gives him enough muscle to play the run. He is a strong, willing tackler who can also use that strength in press coverage. Williams falls short across the board athletically, though, which is best evidenced by his 7.17-second three-cone drill and 4.59-second 40-yard dash. Williams should start as a cornerback, but it is possible he finds himself moving back to safety, similar to Chuck Clark.
