Cowboys signed Indiana WR Ty Fryfogle.
A productive five-year player at Indiana, Fryfogle (6'1/209) put his name on the map with a 37-721-7 line in just eight games in 2020, earning Big Ten Receiver of the Year honors and a third-team spot on the All-American squad. He fell back last season, however, going for just 512 yards and one score in a lackluster passing attack. Fryfogle showed well with a 39-inch vertical and 10-foot-7 broad jump, but he ran a middling 4.53 40 at the Combine and struggled in agility drills at his Pro Day. Ultimately, he offers a big frame and solid enough route running, but he may not have the movement skills or speed to really separate at the next level.

  • Wide Receiver
Indiana senior WR Ty Fryfogle hauled in five passes for 51 yards and no touchdown’s as the Hoosiers fell to Rutgers 38-3 on Saturday.
Fryfogle’s (6'2/205) longest play on the day came on a 46-yard reception late in the second quarter to setup Indiana for it’s first points of the day, which is a good reflection of the struggles Indiana had on the day as his four other receptions went for a grand total of five yards. Fryfogle has been Indiana’s best receiver on the season, and now has a receiving line of 43/496/1, as he has been the victim of an embattled quarterback room all season. Indiana will face Penn State next Saturday.

  • Wide Receiver
Indiana senior WR Ty Fryfogle caught 10 passes for 98 yards in a 33-31 victory over Western Kentucky on Saturday
Fryfogle didn’t get down the field much, as he had a long of 17 yards despite bringing in double-digit catches. Still, the 6-foot-2, 205-pound possession wideout was able to keep Indiana on schedule, and he along with Peyton Hendershot (6-94) had very nice nights against the WKU defense. Fryfogle was considered one of the top returning wideouts in the Big Ten, and looked like it on Saturday. He’ll need another big effort next week to keep up with Penn state.

  • Wide Receiver
Indiana senior WR Ty Fryfogle is staying in school for the 2021 season.
Players are allowed to retain this season of eligibility thanks to the COVID-shortened season. Fryfogle, a senior, is taking full advantage of that ruling and will head back to school to build on his impressive 2020 season. As part of a solid 6-2 Indiana campaign, Fryfogle (6'2/204) grabbed 37 passes for 721 yards and seven touchdowns, making himself especially useful down the field. Look for Indiana to have an effective offense once again in 2021.

  • Wide Receiver
Indiana senior WR Ty Fryfogle caught seven passes for 223 yards with three touchdowns in a 42-35 loss on Saturday to Ohio State.
For the second straight game, Fryfogle (6'2/204) goes over the 200-yard mark, and he’s picked up five touchdowns in those contests. Two of those scores came from over 50 yards out -- 56 and 63, respectively -- with a pedestrian 33-yard score sandwiched between. Fryfogle has now scored in four consecutive games, and he has seven receiving touchdowns on the season. If he wasn’t taken seriously before, it’s certainly time to do just that. Expect Fryfogle to have another big game next Saturday against Maryland.

  • Wide Receiver
Indiana senior WR Ty Fryfogle caught 11 passes for 200 yards and two touchdowns in a 24-0 victory over Michigan State on Saturday.
Fryfogle’s (6'2/204) dominant performance makes it two games in a row where he recorded at least 140 yards and a touchdown. The senior wideout’s first touchdown came on a quick hitch where he appeared to be wrapped up by three Spartan defenders, only to wiggle free and bound his way into the end zone for a 16-yard score. His next touchdown was the result of a perfectly timed throw from Michael Penix Jr. on a 25-yard out where the defender undercut the route but failed to make a play on the ball, allowing Fryfogle to turn it up the right sideline for a 65-yard strike. He has cemented himself as Indiana’s big-play wide receiver and will be counted on heavily next week when the Hoosiers face Big Ten juggernaut Ohio State.

  • Wide Receiver
Indiana senior WR Ty Fryfogle caught seven passes for 142 yards and a touchdown in a 38-21 victory over Michigan on Saturday.
Fryfogle (6'2/204) was nothing short of spectacular today, setting a career high for receiving yards in a game while making multiple highlight reel worthy catches. His most impressive catch came on a go-route down the right sideline where he used his left arm to shield the defender while corralling the ball using only his right arm for a 31-yard reception. He followed that catch up two plays later with a stellar 24-yard, over the shoulder, touchdown reception in the back of the end zone to give Indiana a 14-7 lead they would not relinquish. The undefeated Hoosiers take on Michigan State in East Lansing next Saturday.

    Miles Marshall
    M-OH #13
Indiana redshirt sophomore WR Miles Marshall has been ruled out for Saturday’s game at Rutgers due to a head injury.
Marshall (6'4/208) entered Indiana’s concussion protocol after he took a hit to the head during the Hoosiers’ season-opening win over Penn State. The redshirt sophomore still hasn’t been cleared, and as a result he did not make the trip east with his teammates. Receivers Whop Philyor and Ty Fryfogle are both healthy, as is TE Peyton Hendershot, so Indiana should be fine even with one of its starters sidelined.

  • Wide Receiver
Indiana junior WR Ty Fryfogle snagged three passes for 63 yards in a 23-22 loss to Tennessee in the Taxslayer Gator Bowl on Thursday.
Fryfogle had a quiet evening for most of the Gator Bowl, but was able to come down with a 39-yard catch that could have set up a game-winning field goal. Unfortunately for he and Indiana, the 52-yard attempt ended up just wide. Fryfogle (6'2/204) ends the year with 45 catches and goes over the 600-yard mark, and should put up similar -- if not better -- numbers in 2020 for the Hoosiers.
  • Wide Receiver
Indiana junior WR Ty Fryfogle caught five passes for 131 yards with a touchdown in a 34-27 loss to Penn State on Saturday.
Fryfogle has been a solid part of the Hoosiers’ offense this year, but he took things to another level against the Nittany Lions; albeit in a loss. He picked up a 38-yard touchdown reception in the first from Peyton Ramsey with 9:31 left in the period, and he also had a 46-yard connection in the fourth that set up a field goal. If Whop Philyor (undisclosed) has to miss time, it certainly could mean more targets for the 6-foot-2, 207-pound wideout. Fryfogle and Hoosiers take on Michigan next Saturday.
