Adam Schefter reports that the Browns have signed OT Ty Nsekhe.
Schefter’s report comes from Nsekhe’s agent, so it looks like the 37-year-old will be brought in to help replace right tackle Jack Conklin, who was lost for the season in Week 1. The veteran appeared in 10 games, starting eight, for the Los Angeles Rams last year before getting injured in Week 11. The two years before that he had operated as tackle depth for the Bills and Cowboys, so Nsekhe will be with his fourth team in four years when the ink dries on his new contract. He will likely be added to the competition to replace Conklin, but it would likely be best for the Browns if he was brought in as added depth.
  • Rams LT Ty Nsekhe (ankle) left Week 11’s game against the Saints and was ruled out.
He was spotted on crutches after the game, which is not normally the sign of someone who is going to play next week. Bobby Evans played left tackle in his absence. The Rams offensive line continues to be cursed, as Nsekhe was contestant No. 3 at left tackle after Joseph Noteboom and Alaric Jackson.

  • Rams signed OT Ty Nsekhe.
He’ll replace Joseph Noteboom, who was lost for the year with a torn Achilles on Sunday. Nsekhe has often come out with favorable PFF grades -- he had a 72.5 in 145 snaps for the Cowboys last season -- but has never really handled a full workload of snaps. He could get an extended opportunity with a Rams team that has spent the entire season Down Bad on the offensive line.

  • Bills declared OT Ty Nsekhe, RB TJ Yeldon, OG Ike Boettger, DT Vincent Taylor, S Dean Marlowe, WR Duke Williams, and TE Tommy Sweeney inactive for Week 16 against the Patriots.
No surprises here. It’s Nsekhe’s fifth consecutive game he’ll be sidelined for. Interior run-stuffer Corey Liuget was also deemed healthy up the gut for Buffalo.

  • Cowboys coach Mike McCarthy said Tyron Smith (ankle) will not play Week 15 against the Giants.
Smith aggravated the ankle injury that has bothered him for a large chunk of the season. He missed three games because of the injury earlier in the year, and it will force him to sit out at least one more game. Ty Nsekhe took over at left tackle after Smith exited on Sunday, but Terence Steele was already playing at right tackle following La’el Collins’ ejection. Steele will likely get the start against the Giants.

  • Cowboys signed OT Ty Nsekhe, formerly of the Bills, to a one-year contract.
Nsekhe was a swing tackle for the Bills and has been a fringe starter since 2015. The former undrafted free agent provides insurance to an offensive line that has dealt with concerning injuries over the last two seasons. Nsehke is 35 years old.

  • Bills agreed to terms with OT Ty Nsekhe, formerly of the Redskins on a two-year, $14.5 million contract.
He gets $7.7 million guaranteed. Nsekhe held his own filling in for Trent Williams the last two seasons. The former Texas State star has been a swingman for much of his career but should get a shot to start at right tackle in Buffalo. Nsekhe’s signing means Jordan Mills likely won’t be back. The Bills have added Nsekhe, RG Spencer Long, and C Mitch Morse this offseason.
  • Ty Nsekhe will be the Redskins’ left tackle during Trent Williams’ four-game suspension.
A 2009 UDFA, Nsekhe is a journeyman who’s made 23 career appearances, only two of which were starts. He’s played 99 snaps this season. It’s a massive downgrade for the Redskins’ entire offense.
  • Redskins tendered exclusive rights free agent OT Ty Nsekhe and T/G Vinston Painter.
They’ll return for minimum salaries in 2017. Nsekhe is 31 years old, but he has spent the majority of his career on practice squads, not active rosters. He did shine in four spots starts last season, playing during Trent Williams’ suspension. Nsekhe could likely start at left tackle for at least five NFL teams.
  • Redskins re-signed OT Ty Nsekhe.
An exclusive free agent, he likely was kept on a one-year, minimum deal. Nsekhe performed very well when he was called upon as a spot starter during LT Trent Williams’ four-game suspension last season. He will return as a quality swing tackle.
