Giants signed LS Zach Triner, formerly of the Commanders.
A long-time Buccaneers staple, Triner’s career as a snapper of balls that travel more than the normal amount of distance in a snap has dwindled of late. He played in 77 games from 2019-2023, but just 10 the last two years between Tampa, Miami, and the Commanders. He’ll look to revive his career prospects — one of the few classes of NFL player that can say this at age 35 — in New Jersey.
  • FA Punter #36
    Broncos released P Matt Haack.
The Broncos also released LS Zach Triner, per the transaction wire. With 20 incoming rookies needing roster spots, the Broncos did what was expected and released a few veterans. Both Haack and Triner could be re-signed later on.
  • TB Tight End #86
Buccaneers placed LS Evan Deckers (hamstring) on injured reserve.
The snapper of the long kind of snaps will not snap longly for at least four long weeks. The Buccaneers replaced Deckers on the active roster with Zach Triner, who seems likely to be the long-snapping type guy as long as Deckers is out.
  • NYG Long Snapper
Bucs activated long snapper Zach Triner from the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Bucs won’t have to start their third long snapper of the season with Triner back in the fold for their Week 14 game against Buffalo. Triner’s return is excellent news for Ryan Succop and the rest of the Tampa special teams.

  • FA Kicker (FG)
Bucs placed K Ryan Succop on the reserve/COVID-19 list.
The Bucs’ entire specialist trio of Succop, P Bradley Pinion and LS Zach Triner have landed on the coronavirus list. It is unclear which of the three, if any, are positive. The most likely assumption is that one is positive and the other two are close contacts. Whoever is positive will be ineligible for Sunday’s game against the Falcons, one that will produce fantasy relevance for kickers. Greg Joseph is the next man up for the Bucs.
