A day after Pittsburgh Penguins coach Mike Johnston said Beau Bennett’s injury “isn’t as bad as it looked”, the team announced Bennett would miss six weeks.
Bennett was clipped in the heel by teammate Kasperi Kapanen’s skate on Friday and needed help leaving the ice.
“Beau is going to be six weeks, it looks like. It’s one of those unfortunate things... it’s a lower body injury,” Johnston said.
Meanwhile, Sidney Crosby, who won’t play tonight, is expected to rejoin the Penguins on Sunday and play Monday when Pittsburgh visits Minnesota.
