Texans selected Purdue T/G Nick Mondek with the No. 195 overall pick in the 2012 NFL draft.
Mondek started his career as a defensive tackle, but shifted to offense as a junior. He was promptly locked in as a starter for two straight seasons. Mondek should be considered a developmental project, but his pre-draft workout numbers were remarkable. At 6'6/304, Mondek ran a 4.86 forty with a 1.59 ten-yard split at the Purdue Pro Day. He’s ideally suited for zone blocking.
