    Chargers signed K Nick Rose.
    Oddly for a Chargers kicker, Michael Badgley performed well in the Wild Card round, so the Chargers are certainly not looking to replace him. According to Adam Schefter, Rose is being added to handle kickoffs against the Patriots.

    Rose is replacing Dustin Hopkins, who has been sent to injured reserve with a hip issue. A 2016 UDFA out of Texas, Rose has never appeared in a regular season game. He was a 71.1 percent field goal kicker in the Big 12.

    It appears the Bucs are looking to bring in competition for Chandler Catanzaro, who missed a 53-yarder as well as an extra point in Thursday’s preseason opener against Miami. Rose converted 11-of-14 field goal tries with a long of 55 yards last year over 10 games for the Chargers and Redskins. Drew Brown and Joey Slye were also brought in for tryouts on Friday.

    The Chargers have used seemingly countless kickers this season, several of whom have cost them games. Rose went 10-of-11 on field goal tries in Washington, although he missed two extra points. He will kick Sunday against the Jets.
