The Athletic’s Colton Pouncy writes that Notre Dame freshman OL Nick Samac “could work his way onto the field” this fall.
Samac (6'4/284) signed on with the Spartans as a three-star recruit over the winter and impressed right off the bat in spring practice, with MSU HC Mark Dantonio talking up his quickness. Pouncy notes that "[i]t helps that Samac is versatile enough to play tackle or guard.” He will need to keep up his momentum in August camp if he is to land a rotational role on the line, but the early signs have been very positive.
