Wake Forest sophomore PK Nick Sciba booted four field goals in Saturday’s 39-27 win against Duke, and he set an NCAA record in the process.
Sciba (5'9/190) connected on field goals of 38, 34, 44 and 25 yards to give him 32 consecutive made field goals, surpassing the record of Washington’s Chuck Nelson, who successful converted 30 field goal attempts during the 1981-82 seasons. The 44-yard boot was the longest of the season for Sciba. He’ll face neutral kicking conditions inside the Carrier Dome at Syracuse next Saturday as he looks to add to his NCAA record. His 29th straight field goal also secured a new ACC record.
