Orioles recalled RHP Odrisamer Despaigne from Triple-A Norfolk.
He’ll absorb the roster spot left by Matt Wieters, who left the team for a few days to go on paternity leave. Despaigne had mixed results during his last stint in Baltimore, logging a 4.81 ERA over 15 outings.

Odrisamer Despaigne has re-signed with the KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization.
Despaigne returns for a third season in Korea with the defending KBO champions after posting a strong 3.39 ERA, 1.34 WHIP and 165/78 K/BB ratio across 188 2/3 innings (33 starts) last year. The 34-year-old Cuban native, who last appeared in the majors with the White Sox back in 2019, will earn a $1.1 million base salary and can take home an additional $250,000 through incentives.

The Korean Baseball Organization regular season has been suspended following multiple COVID-19 cases.
Not good. The league was set to break for the Olympics starting on July 19, but teams will receive an additional week off now. Despaigne has been one of the highest-profile starters in the KBO this season, recording a 2.45 ERA, 1.26 WHIP and 110 strikeouts across 102 2/3 innings (18 starts). He struck out a season-high 11 batters over six innings in his final outing on Sunday for the KT Wiz.

Odrisamer Despaigne has re-signed with the KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization.
It’s a one-year, $800,000 deal that carries a $300,000 signing bonus, a $500,000 salary for 2021, and another $300,000 in possible performance-based incentives. Despaigne, who spent parts of six seasons in Major League Baseball between 2014-2019, went 15-8 with a 4.33 ERA in 207 2/3 innings this past year in the KBO.

Odrisamer Despaigne signed a one-year, $900,000 contract with KT Wiz of the Korea Baseball Organization.
The deal is pending a physical, per Ken Rosenthal of The Athletic. Despaigne owned a 9.45 ERA in three starts with the White Sox in 2019 and was outrighted off the team’s 40-man roster in late June. Like many before him, the 32-year-old will try to get his career back on track overseas.
  • INT Starting Pitcher #25
White Sox sent RHP Odrisamer Despaigne outright to Triple-A Charlotte.
Despaigne cleared waivers after being designated for assignment and will remain in the organization.
  • INT Starting Pitcher #25
White Sox designated RHP Odrisamer Despaigne for assignment.
Despaigne gets the boot after allowing four runs in just three innings Saturday against the Rangers. He’s put up a rough 9.45 ERA in three starts this season, so it’s not surprising the White Sox are ready to turn the page.
  • INT Starting Pitcher #25
Odrisamer Despaigne was lit up for four runs over three innings in a no-decision against the Rangers on Saturday.
Despaigne coughed up a staggering eight hits, including a pair of homers to Nomar Mazara. He issued one walk and failed to record a strikeout. The 32-year-old junkballer owns a disastrous 9.45 ERA across three starts. If they haven’t already, the White Sox should start exploring alternatives. He’ll face off against the Twins in his next start on Friday and can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.
  • INT Starting Pitcher #25
Odrisamer Despaigne was crushed for seven runs over 4 1/3 innings in a loss to the Yankees on Sunday.
Despaigne surrendered nine hits and also walked four batters. He struck out five and somehow managed to keep the ball in the park, as the high-powered Yankees lineup did all of their damage without a round-tripper. The 32-year-old junkballer owns an 8.71 ERA 2.13 WHIP and 7/6 K/BB ratio across a pair of starts. He’s lined up to face the Rangers on the road in his next start on Sunday. He’s not a recommended streaming option, regardless of fantasy format.
  • INT Starting Pitcher #25
Odrisamer Despaigne allowed three runs on seven hits over six innings in a loss to the Nationals on Monday.
Despaigne gave up a run in the second and third, and then allowed a solo homer to Trea Turner in the fifth. For the most part, the veteran 32-year-old was solid, but with Anibal Sanchez pitching well -- and the early damage -- it wasn’t good enough to pick up the win. If Despaigne gets another start, it’ll likely come on Sunday against the Yankees. Not ideal.
