    Chargers waived DL Ogembi Nwagbuo.
The Bolts appreciate Nwagbuo’s versatility with the ability to play nose tackle and either end spot, but he hadn’t seen action since Week 5. The Chargers are looking for more of a pass-rushing presence up front.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #79
Panthers signed DT Ogemdi Nwagbuo, formerly of the Chargers.
Coach Ron Rivera is desperate for size on the interior, and he has history with Nwagbuo from their time to together in San Diego. Nwagbuo recorded three tackles in four games with the Chargers earlier this season.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #79
    Panthers waived DT Ogemdi Nwagbuo.
An undrafted free agent in 2009, Nwagbuo appeared in 35 games between the Chargers and Panthers the past three seasons. He has just 44 career tackles and 1.5 sacks, but capable of playing both end and tackle, he should crack someone’s roster in 2012.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #79
    Chargers re-signed NT Ogemdi Nwagbuo.
Luis Castillo is in danger of missing at least half of the season with a broken tibia, so the Chargers brought back a familiar face. Nwagbuo, 25, can play both nose tackle and left defensive end in the 3-4. He appeared in 15 games without a start last season, racking up 19 tackles and a half-sack.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #79
    Lions signed DT Ogemdi Nwagbuo.
Nwagbuo will get a two-game audition with Nick Fairley (shoulder) on IR. The former undrafted free agent out of Michigan State brings 35 games of NFL experience during stints with the Chargers and Panthers.
  • FA Defensive Lineman
Chargers fifth-round NT Cam Thomas is expected to play in a rotation with Antonio Garay and Ogemdi Nwagbuo this year.
Nwagbuo, miscast as a nose tackle at just 300 pounds, faded badly in the second half after taking over for Jamal Williams last year. Thomas is far more talented than either veteran, so he’ll be given more responsibility as the season progresses.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #79
    Bengals waived/injured DT Ogemdi Nwagbuo.
The former Lions, Panthers, and Chargers defensive tackle was waived with an undisclosed illness. Nwagbuo was a roster long shot from the start.
  • DEN Defensive Lineman
Chargers placed NT Jamal Williams (triceps) on injured reserve, ending his season.
A stunning and devastating surprise, especially since Williams was listed as questionable this week. Knee injuries and his age (33) have slowed the three-time Pro Bowler down, but the Chargers still count on Williams heavily for run defense; there isn’t a more important player on their defense. The only other defensive tackle on their roster right now is Ogemdi Nwagbuo.
  • FA Running Back #30
The Dolphins plan to run right at San Diego’s replacement nose guard, Ogemdi Nwagbuo, on Sunday.
The Chargers have given up an average of 139 yards on the ground through the first two weeks with Pro Bowler Jamal Williams missing in the trenches. They have also allowed three rushing touchdowns on the season, so Ronnie Brown should stay hot after running all over the Colts on Monday night.
  • FA Defensive Lineman #79
Chargers NT Ogemdi Nwagbuo (ankle, questionable) missed his third straight day of practice Friday.
We had to copy and paste Nwagbuo’s name because it’s so hard to spell. His injury gives the Giants even more reason to go run heavy against San Diego’s No. 27 rush defense with Eli Manning struggling and Brandon Jacobs hot. Consider Jacobs an RB1 and Ahmad Bradshaw a high-upside flex.
