Pokemon Go is at a full stop in Rio.

So says an article from New Zealand’s Stuff, which quotes Olympic athletes showing their frustration at not being able to play the game in Brazil.

Well, let’s clarify: they can play the game in a sense, as there’s a map of Brazil, but they cannot actually find any Pokemon.

Fortunately for players like New Zealand women’s soccer player Anna Green, the alternative is a pretty simple decision.

“I wish I could run around in the (athletes’) village catching Pokemon,’' Football Ferns player Anna Green said “I just can’t get it on the phone. It’s fine, but it would have been something fun to do.’

What will she do instead? “Train,’' she replied.
