The youngest of Canada’s three Dufour-Lapointe sisters will stand the tallest on the Olympic women’s moguls podium in Sochi, as Justine Dufour-Lapointe (pictured, left) beat Chloe Dufour-Lapointe (pictured, right) and 2010 Olympic champion Hannah Kearney of the U.S. at Rosa Khutor.

Fourth in the starting order for the six-person “super final” - the last of three eliminations within the final round - 19-year-old Justine earned a score of 22.44 (74.80%) to set the bar for the two left to go: Chloe and Kearney, who upset Canada’s Jenn Heil four years ago in Vancouver.

Chloe was unable to move past her sister, gaining a score of 21.66 (72.20%) and slotting into silver position to set the stage for Kearney. The Vermont native briefly lost her technique after the first kicker, but gathered back up for a solid run down the remainder of the course.

However, a successful title defense was not to be, as Kearney (71.63%) earned a score of 21.49, good for the bronze.

With Justine’s victory, the wait to see the first freestyle skier earn multiple Olympic gold medals will continue on to Pyeongchang in 2018.

The third American remaining in the moguls’ field, Heather McPhie, was eliminated after Round 1 of the final and is credited with a 13th place finish. The third Dufour-Lapointe sister, Maxime, was eliminated in Round 2, and finished one spot ahead in 12th.
