Hope Solo hears “Zika” chants in Team USA’s win over New Zealand (video)

Given the usual terms proffered by crowds when a keeper is about to attempt a goal kick, “Zika” isn’t the worst thing that could’ve been tossed Hope Solo’s way in Wednesday’s Olympic opener between Team USA and New Zealand.

Solo used social media a few weeks back to claim she was “Zikaproofing” herself for the Games in Rio.

The fans in Brazil knew that and, even though the U.S. got the last laugh in a 2-0 win, Rebecca Lowe takes a look at the crowd’s reaction to Solo.
