Olympic champion gymnast Madison Kocian met Beyoncé and threw a first pitch at a Texas Rangers game, but perhaps the most unique honor since she returned from Rio came in the form of a cake on Sunday.
The dessert was a work of art -- from the Olympic rings and medals to a sneaker to an uneven bars apparatus, Kocian’s trademark event where she won silver in Rio.
Kocian helped hand out slices at a homecoming celebration at an Embassy Suites Hotel convention center in Frisco, Texas, on Sunday. She also threw another acrobatic first pitch, her second in as many days, at a Frisco RoughRiders minor-league game.
Kocian’s elite gymnastics career is over. She is expected to start a collegiate career at UCLA next season.
