Ronda Rousey discusses suicidal thoughts after loss to Holly Holm (video)

Ronda Rousey broke down while recalling suicidal thoughts shortly after she lost for the first time in her mixed martial arts career.

In an interview with Ellen DeGeneres that airs Monday, the 2008 Olympic judo bronze medalist described her thoughts while she sat in a corner in a medical room after being knocked out by Holly Holm on Nov. 15.

“Thinking about killing myself,” Rousey said, tears running down her face, before being handed a tissue by DeGeneres. “In that exact second, I’m like, I’m nothing, what do I do anymore? No one gives a s*** about me anymore without this. To be honest, I looked up, and I saw my man, Travis, was standing there. I looked up at him, and I was like, I need to have his babies. I need to stay alive.”

Rousey then said she wanted her next fight to be a rematch with Holm.

“Of course I want to fight Holly,” Rousey said. “I’m going to beat her and make everything right again.”

A December report said a Rousey-Holm rematch date was cleared and expected to be July 9, but no fight or date has been officially named.

Holm is scheduled to fight Miesha Tate on March 5.
