The women’s beach volleyball tournament concludes tonight, with Kerri Walsh Jennings in an unfamiliar position. After taking gold in each of the three prior Olympic tournaments she’s in the bronze medal match after she and April Ross lost to Brazilians Agatha and Barbara Tuesday night. To earn bronze they’ll need to beat another pair from Brazil in Larissa and Talita.

Larissa and Talita were also expected to advance to the gold medal match, but they fell in straight sets to Germany’s team of Laura Ludwig and Kira Walkenhorst. The bronze medal match is scheduled to begin at 9 p.m. Eastern, with the gold medal match to follow (no earlier than 11 p.m.).
