Lemon

An undrafted free agent out of Oklahoma State last season, Lemon spent the year on the practice squad. He has an opening after the Cowboys decided not to re-sign ILBs Keith Brooking and Bradie James. If Lemon makes the team, his snaps figure to mostly be limited to special teams.

Lemon will have a shot to make the 2012 roster with Bradie James and Keith Brooking both headed for unrestricted free agency. Callaway had a big preseason, racking up a sack and forced fumble, and is transitioning from 4-3 tackle to 3-4 end. Wilson and Williams are practice bodies for the offseason.

Signed to play special teams in September, Lemon is seeing snaps on defense in the absence of ILB Sean Lee. He’s likely week-to-week.

Lemon is in his second year out of Oklahoma State. He spent the entire 2011 season on the practice squad. This offseason, Lemon was in the conversation as having a real shot at making the 53-man roster. If active, he figures to be limited to special teams.

The Cowboys’ inside linebackers continue to drop like flies. Lemon joins Sean Lee (toe) on injured reserve and Dan Connor is still fighting a stinger. Lemon, who was called up from the practice squad on Sept. 22, finishes his second NFL season with four special teams tackles and four defensive stops in four games.

A second-year UDFA, Lemon appeared in five games for the Cowboys last season. He’ll compete for a job on special teams if he earns a contract.

Lemon appeared in two games for the Cowboys earlier this season. With Big D’s linebacker corps absolutely decimated by injury, Lemon could actually see some snaps on defense in Week 16.

Lemon was with the Cowboys from 2011-12, appearing in four games. He’s a special teamer that can also help with depth while Sean Lee (hamstring) is sidelined.

Lemon started at strong-side linebacker and played 16 snaps Thursday night. His release may be an indication Bruce Carter will be ready for Week 16.
