The Jets completed an interview with Rams senior personnel executive Ray Farmer for the vacant general manager position.
Farmer spent the 2020 NFL season as a Rams scouting consultant before ascending to his current position in 2021. The Rams have enjoyed immense draft-day successes over the last four seasons that the Jets undoubtedly wish to emulate. Farmer held roles in the Falcons, Chiefs and Browns’ personnel department prior to his five-year tenure with the Rams.

CBS’ Jason La Canfora reports ex-GMs Scott Pioli, Ray Farmer and Trent Baalke are potential candidates to serve as Urban Meyer’s general manager in Jacksonville.
Per La Canfora, Pioli “has a strong relationship with Meyer going back a ways.” Baalke is already in Jacksonville as the director of player personnel. Connected to Jacksonville earlier this month, Farmer had a rough go of it in Cleveland half a decade ago.

Jaguars will interview former Browns general manager Ray Farmer for the team’s open GM position.
Farmer’s track record leaves something to be desired. He used two first-round picks in each of his two seasons (2014-2016) as Browns general manager to select CB Justin Gilbert, QB Johnny Manziel, NT Danny Shelton, and OL Cam Erving. Jacksonville fans better hope Farmer is a long shot to land the team’s GM job.

Browns promoted assistant GM Ray Farmer to general manager and fired GM Mike Lombardi.
CEO Joe Banner has also been relieved of his duties and will be out of the organization by May. So, the madness in Cleveland continues on. Lombardi and Banner joined the Browns, along with coach Rob Chudzinski, ahead of the 2013 season, and now all three have been fired a year into the job. This also partly explains why Farmer, 39, pulled out of the running for the Dolphins’ GM job last month. While it’s been a crazy time in Cleveland, it’s arguable that the Browns are actually upgrading with this move. Farmer is a well-respected personnel man, while Lombardi was merely a figurehead. Owner Jimmy Haslam will allow Farmer and new coach Mike Pettine -- who we assume is safe -- to handle things for at least the next couple seasons, we’d imagine.

An anonymous general manager tells the Cleveland Plain Dealer "(he’ll) do business with the Browns again” after the team fired GM Mike Lombardi and CEO Joe Banner on Tuesday.
“I’m not the only one that feels this way,” the rival executive added. Lombardi has long been a polarizing figure, as evidenced by his embarrassingly-short tenure in Cleveland. Per reporter Mary Kay Cabot, head-coaching candidates Bill O’Brien and Ken Whisenhunt declined interviews with the Browns because of the presence of Lombardi and/or Banner. Although we still think the move was rash and short-sighted for a team that desperately needs to establish some stability, canning Lombardi and Banner might actually help the Browns’ standing around the league.

Browns suspended OL coach Andy Moeller indefinitely for an incident that took place over the Labor Day Weekend.
Moeller has a long history of drinking-related issues, and was suspended two games in 2011 by the Ravens when he was Baltimore’s offensive line coach. The exact reason for Moeller’s latest ban is unknown. Moeller joins GM Ray Farmer on suspension to open the year. The Browns are a clown car and all those affiliated with the organization are just along for the ride.

Suspended Browns OL coach Andy Moeller’s arrest was related to a “domestic issue.”
Moeller has a history of alcohol-related arrests. Already suspended indefinitely by the Browns, Moeller is staring at a formal six-game ban from the league.

Suspended Browns OL coach Andy Moeller allegedly assaulted a female guest at his home over the weekend.
The woman is believed to be Moeller’s girlfriend. Or maybe ex-girlfriend now. But being that she didn’t live in the residence, it’s not classified as a “domestic” issue, merely your simple assault. Charges have yet to be filed by the prosecutor. Either way, Moeller has been suspended indefinitely by the team.

Browns fired OL coach Andy Moeller.
In a press release, the sides said they “agreed to part ways.” Moeller was accused of assaulting his fiancee earlier this month and had been suspended indefinitely by the Browns. He allegedly tried to “strangle and beat up” his fiancee. Moeller, 51, has been arrested several times in alcohol-related incidents.

The Browns are not expected to lose a draft pick for Text-gate.
Browns GM Ray Farmer admitted that he attempted to text playcalls to the sidelines during 2014 games. Somehow, the Browns are getting off easy as punishment will be levied mostly against the GM himself and not the team. Farmer’s first year as an NFL GM was nothing short of a train wreck, with this texting scandal the cherry on top. Expect the franchise to be fined heavily as well.
