Acquired from the Mariners in the Mike Leake salary-dump trade back in August 2017, Ascanio struggled to a .225/.295/.385 batting line with eight home runs and two stolen bases in 74 games (204 plate appearances) this past summer at Triple-A Memphis. He turns 26 years old next March.
