    Jaguars signed RB Roc Thomas.
He’ll join the Jaguars in Baltimore for joint practices with the Ravens this week. Thomas was let go by the Vikings last month, which came shortly after he was hit with a three-game suspension stemming from a marijuana arrest. In Jacksonville, he’ll be competing with Ryquell Armstead, Alfred Blue and Thomas Rawls for backup looks behind third-year bell-cow Leonard Fournette.

    Vikings released RB Roc Thomas.
Thomas will serve his three-game suspension elsewhere after pleading guilty to felony marijuana possession in May. A 2018 UDFA with Minnesota, Thomas merely notched 10 touches over five games with the team in his rookie season. Third-rounder Alexander Mattison remains Dalvin Cook’s backup following Thomas’ release.
  • FA Running Back #35
NFL suspended Vikings RB Roc Thomas three games for violating the league’s substance-abuse policy.
Thomas was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to felony marijuana possession in May. A 2018 UDFA, Thomas was on and off the 53-man roster. He touched the ball 10 times across five games.

Vikings RB Roc Thomas was sentenced to three years of probation after pleading guilty to felony marijuana possession.
Thomas was charged back in March with fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance. As part of his probation, Thomas will be required to undergo random testing as well as a chemical dependency evaluation and possible treatment. Thomas is also likely to face a suspension from the NFL.

Vikings RB Roc Thomas has been charged with felony drug possession.
Thomas is facing fifth-degree possession of a controlled substance charges after complaints from his apartment led to a search warrant. The Vikings are aware of the situation and will let the legal situation play out. Thomas is likely headed for a 2019 suspension.

    Vikings waived RB Roc Thomas.
Thomas made the team as an UDFA this year after a big preseason that saw him total 195 yards and two scores on 24 touches. He had rushed eight times for 30 yards in real games. Thomas was cut in favor of Ameer Abdullah.
  • FA Running Back #35
Roc Thomas rushed four times for eight yards in the Vikings’ Week 5 win over the Eagles, adding a six-yard reception.
With Dalvin Cook (hamstring) still sidelined, Thomas got a shot as the Vikes’ No. 2 back behind Latavius Murray. He drew a red zone target and goal line carry. Perhaps the Jacksonville State UDFA is worth an add in the deepest of Dynasty leagues.
  • FA Running Back #35
Vikings signed Jacksonville State RB Roc Thomas.
Thomas (5’10/198) originally went to Auburn as the nation’s No. 2 running back recruit, then transferred to Jacksonville State for his final two years. He exploded as a senior, earning Ohio Valley Conference OPOY with a 178/1,065/5.98/13 and 21 catches. Not a long-speed specialist (4.56), Thomas’ elusiveness and short-area quickness stand out on game tape. He offers some Dion Lewis-like potential if put to use correctly.
  • FA Running Back #35
Vikings UDFA rookie Roc Thomas totaled 34 yards on 11 carries while adding three catches for 102 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s preseason opener against the Broncos.
He was the third running back to enter the game following starter Latavius Murray (Dalvin Cook was held out as a precaution) and Mike Boone. Most of Thomas’ damage came against second-stringers but it was still an impressive showing by the undrafted rookie. The Jacksonville State alum shined in the passing game, nabbing a 13-yard touchdown from Trevor Siemian in the first quarter before adding another score on a 78-yard dump-and-run with 4:59 remaining in the first half. It remains to be seen whether Thomas has a realistic shot at cracking the 53-man roster, but his performance on Saturday certainly helped his case.
  • FA Running Back #35
Roc Thomas has made the Vikings’ 53-man roster.
He was one of two undrafted running backs to make the team along with fellow rookie Mike Boone, who figures to be the third-string back behind starter Dalvin Cook and short-yardage hammer Latavius Murray. Thomas didn’t make much headway as a ball-carrier this summer (66 yards on 17 carries during the preseason) but he shined in the passing game, nabbing seven-of-eight targets for 129 yards and two touchdowns during preseason play. It’s a nice story, though the Jacksonville State alum will probably be limited to change-of-pace duty/special teams work in year one. Thomas tweaked his ankle in Thursday night’s preseason finale but it shouldn’t be a major stumbling block.
