Former Browns WR Rod Streater was announced as the team’s Scouting Assistant.
His hiring was mentioned in a long list of promotions that includes ex-Colts GM Ryan Grigson taking on the role of the team’s Senior Football Advisor, former Eagles exec Andrew Healy as Cleveland’s VP of Research & Strategy, and former 49ers Researcher Kwesi Adofo-Mensah as the organization’s VP of Football Operations. All in all, Browns first-year GM Andrew Berry announced 27 additions, promotions, and/or title changes on staff.

Chiefs signed WR Rod Streater, formerly of the Raiders, to a one-year deal “worth up to” $4.8 million.
Streater took visits with the Patriots and Jets, but his best shot at a roster spot was with the Chiefs. A seemingly ascending receiver before spending all of 2015 as a healthy scratch, Streater has a good shot to crack Kansas City’s thin receiver corps.

Jerry McDonald of Bay Area News Group floats the idea of the Raiders making WRs Darrius Heyward-Bey, Denarius Moore, and Jacoby Ford available for draft picks this offseason.
The three receivers have three things in common: They all have well above average speed and athleticism, they were all drafted by the previous regime, and they have all have durability concerns. If rookie Rod Streater shows that the last two weeks were not a mirage, the Raiders may be even more inclined to listen to offers.

Raiders WR/KR Jacoby Ford (foot) conceded Tuesday that his status is “up in the air” for the season opener.
It’s not looking good. Ford just resumed jogging on Tuesday after confirming that this injury is to the same spot as the one that sidelined him late last season. The Raiders are expected to continue a cautious approach toward his return. Rod Streater is a good bet to play the slot if Denarius Moore (hamstring) is well enough to start.

Jacoby Ford (foot) has been ruled out for Week 1.
With Ford not ready to return from injury, rookie receiver Rod Streater is poised for a big role on Monday night against the Chargers, either manning the slot or playing outside. The Raiders are erring on the side of caution with Ford, although it’s concerning that he hasn’t even resumed sprinting.

Raiders WR/KR Jacoby Ford will undergo surgery to repair his injured foot.
Coach Dennis Allen expects Ford to miss a “significant” amount of time. We first became concerned for Ford’s early-season availability when he acknowledged that the injury is essentially a repeat of the one that sidelined him for six games at mid-season a year ago. Rookie Rod Streater will continue to have a major role in the passing attack after playing five snaps more than Darrius Heyward-Bey in the opener.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Denarius Moore (shoulder) did not participate in Monday’s walkthrough.
Moore’s inability to take part in a non-contact session suggests he’s a longshot to play against the Cowboys on Thanksgiving. Andre Holmes will likely start again, but the only Raiders pass-catcher even worth considering is Rod Streater. He has 11 catches for 177 yards and one touchdown on 17 targets in the two full games Matt McGloin has played in this year.

Raiders rookie WR Rod Streater will start in Saturday’s preseason game against the Lions.
Both Denarius Moore (hamstring) and Jacoby Ford (foot) are out. Streater, an undrafted rookie out Temple, has been extremely impressive all offseason long while outplaying fifth-rounder Juron Criner. He has 13 catches for 109 yards through two preseason games. The longer the injuries to Moore and Ford linger, the more appeal Streater has as a re-draft flier.

Carson Palmer believes rookie WR Rod Streater is a “special” player.
“He’s a player,” Palmer said. “He didn’t come in like he’s an undrafted rookie; he doesn’t play like he’s a rookie. He’s special. He’s special. And that’s pretty obvious.” Streater already has 18 receptions in three preseason games after tallying just 19 for Temple all of last season. He’s emerged as a viable late-round flier with Denarius Moore’s (hamstring) Week 1 status in question.
  • FA Wide Receiver #13
Rod Streater had five receptions for 56 yards in the Raiders’ third preseason game.
Streater started with Denarius Moore (hamstring) and Jacoby Ford (foot sprain) sidelined, and was targeted more than Darrius Heyward-Bey. Streater is up to a ridiculous 18 catches for 165 yards through three preseason games, seeing 23 targets. Fifth-round pick Juron Criner finished Saturday’s exhibition contest with 115 yards and two touchdowns against Lions backups.
