    Athletics released RHP Ryan Castellani.

Castellani appeared in three games with the A’s this season, firing 2 2/3 scoreless innings with a 0.75 WHIP and 1/0 K/BB ratio. He shouldn’t have a difficult time finding another team willing to take a shot on him on a minor league deal.

Athletics optioned RHP Ryan Castellani to Triple-A Las Vegas.

With Jed Lowrie and Kevin Smith returning from the injured list on Friday, the A’s needed to free up some roster space and it looks like Castellani drew the short straw. The 26-year-old hurler did a nice job during his time with the big league club, firing 2 2/3 scoreless innings with a 0.75 WHIP and 1/0 K/BB ratio. He should get another opportunity in Oakland in relatively short order.

Athletics purchased the contract of RHP Ryan Castellani from Triple-A Las Vegas.

Castellani had been working as a closer at Las Vegas. He’ll give the A’s a fresh bullpen arm.

Athletics optioned INF Nick Allen, LHP Zach Logue and RHP Miguel Romero to Triple-A Las Vegas; reassigned LHP Aaron Brown, RHPs Ryan Castellani, Chester Pimentel and Austin Pruitt, INF Dermis Garcia and OF Buddy Reed to minor league camp.

The latest round of Athletics’ spring cuts includes a bit of a surprise in Allen, who has been outstanding so far this spring, and appeared to have a shot at making the Athletics’ Opening Day roster. The recent addition of veteran second baseman Jed Lowrie has apparently slammed that door shut. The 23-year-old middle infielder should get an opportunity at some point this season.

Athletics signed RHP Ryan Castellani to a minor league contract.

It’s unclear whether or not the deal will include an invitation to big league camp. The 25-year-old hurler spent the majority of the 2021 campaign at Triple-A Albuquerque where he posted a troublesome 6.25 ERA, 1.70 WHIP and 86/71 K/BB ratio over 95 innings. He’ll have to cut back drastically on the walks to have any chance of success with the A’s.

Rockies sent RHP Ryan Castellani outright to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Castellani was designated for assignment by Colorado last week and ultimately passed through waivers unclaimed. The 25-year-old owns a career 5.79 ERA in 46 2/3 major league innings.

Rockies designated RHP Ryan Castellani for assignment.

Castellani had been pitching at Triple-A Albuquerque since early May. The 25-year-old right-hander holds a career 5.79 ERA, 1.54 WHIP, and 27/30 K/BB ratio in 46 2/3 total major league innings.

Rockies returned RHP Ryan Castellani to Triple-A Albuquerque.

Castellani was the 27th man on the Rockies’ roster for the doubleheader against the Giants on Tuesday, and threw 3 1/3 innings in a spot start while allowing two runs. He has a chance to make more starts over the coming months for Colorado, but there isn’t much redraft value.

Ryan Castellani allowed two runs over 3 1/3 innings on Tuesday in a no-decision against the Giants.

Castellani was summoned from the Rockies’ alternate site to make a spot start at Coors Field in the tail-end of Tuesday’s twin-billing against the Giants. The 25-year-old righty struggled with his control, issuing four walks. He also gave up five hits, including a two-run homer to Brandon Belt. He’ll likely be jettisoned back to Triple-A Albuquerque and can be safely ignored in all fantasy formats.

Rockies recalled RHP Ryan Castellani from their alternate training site.

Castellani will serve as the 27th man in Tuesday’s doubleheader against the Giants and start the second game. Being at Coors Field, it doesn’t come recommended as a fantasy play.
