NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports Doug Marrone is “likely out” as the Jaguars head coach and that former Ohio State coach Urban Meyer could be the replacement.
Marrone is likely to be a victim on Black Monday after what likely will be a 1-15 season. Despite the record, the Jaguars head coaching job is one of the best available given the Jaguars’ massive cap space and first overall pick. Meyer would be an exciting hire for all involved. His offenses at Ohio State were electric, and his coaching connections are as good as anyone’s. Rapoport reports Meyer is telling his network of friends and coaches that he “expects to land” in Jacksonville. If Meyer ultimately stays retired, Rapoport reports current Ohio State coach Ryan Day is a “potential target”. The debate between Clemson’s Trevor Lawrence and Ohio State’s Justin Fields would be turned up if Meyer or Day lands the job.

NFL.com’s Ian Rapoport reports Eagles QBs coach Ryan Day is expected to join Chip Kelly’s staff in San Francisco.
Per Rapsheet, Day will either remain Kelly’s quarterbacks coach or be promoted to offensive coordinator. “Offensive coordinator” is a ceremonial title only under Kelly, who calls his own plays.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Ohio State co-OC Ryan Day is expected to remain in Columbus and won’t join the Titans.
New Titans coach Mike Vrabel wants an OC who has ties to Marcus Mariota, and Day was one of those after Day worked at several stops with Chip Kelly, who coached Mariota at Oregon. The Titans will continue their search.

According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Ohio State co-offensive coordinator Ryan Day is a candidate for the Titans’ offensive coordinator position.
Day has worked with Chip Kelly on several occasions (he also played for him at the University of New Hampshire), most recently serving as his QBs coach when Kelly held the head job in San Francisco in 2016. Marcus Mariota thrived in Kelly’s fast-paced scheme at the University of Oregon and could have similar success under Day. Tennessee featured one of the league’s slowest offenses with Mike Mularkey calling the shots in 2017.
