The webcam view may not look like much at the moment, but things are moving on Major League Soccer’s 15th stadium build or refurbished with pro soccer in mind.
The San Jose Earthquakes have recently gotten the live look apparatus up and running, which makes the whole thing seem more real, for some reason. (Click here to see what the webcam sees.)
Speaking of evidence that this puppy dog is moving along and wagging its happy tail, here’s the 3D virtual map, the only tool any fan needs for picking his or her seats.
This piece from the Earthquakes tells us a couple of important things. The best is that its LEED certified; LEED is a program that provides third-party verification that new homes or physical structures are sufficiently green, so good on the Earthquakes for being environmentally conscious as they prep their 18.000-seat building for 2014 launch.
Oh, and how about this for a post-Memorial Day bit of data: the stadium site was once a tank building factory. They even had an M2 Bradley fighting vehicle roll out of the old warehouse in a demolition done right! Sweet touch, guys.
Can’t say I’m in love with the open end; too much noise gets the opportunity to escape. On the other hand, love the center player entrance, something not all MLS stadiums have.
