Whether it was wind, a defective ball or just plain swerve, Penang’s Mohd Faiz Subri soared out of obscurity and into the international spotlight with this incredible goal.
A 28-year-old attacking midfielder from Malaysia, Subri is responsible for one of the most watched videos of the day after looping a ball in a fashion that would make the bag in the wind in “American Beauty” feel under control.

The goal came in Penang’s 4-1 win over Pahang FC, and we have to wonder whether the ball hit some sort of dense but tiny bird on the way to goal. Bonkers.
