USC RB Stafon Johnson has accepted an invite to January’s Senior Bowl.
Johnson didn’t play in USC’s last nine games after a career-threatening accident in the weight room that left him with a crushed larynx. Playing in the Senior Bowl is a good idea and will confirm to scouts that Johnson is serious about the NFL. A projected mid- to late-round draft pick, Johnson (5'11/210) averaged 5.1 YPC in his final two college seasons, with 14 TDs.

USC RB Stafon Johnson ran a 4.59 forty-yard dash at the Trojans’ Wednesday Pro Day.
He was in the 4.7 range at the Scouting Combine. Johnson is a mid- to late-round prospect after missing most of his senior year with a crushed larynx.

Titans signed USC RB Stafon Johnson.
Johnson suffered a career-threatening crushed larynx in a weight room accident. After averaging 5.1 YPC in his final two seasons as a Trojan, he ran a good enough 4.59 at USC’s pro day. He picked a good spot to sign because the Titans have no depth behind Chris Johnson and Javon Ringer after the LenDale White trade.

Titans RB Stafon Johnson (broken leg) returned to practice Saturday.
Johnson dislocated his ankle and broke his fibula in the preseason last year. That came after his scary weightlifting accident at USC. Now he’s healthy and getting reps in practice with Chris Johnson holding out. If Johnson (Stafon, not Chris) makes the final roster, it will make for a nice story.

In addition to a dislocated ankle, rookie RB Stafon Johnson suffered a broken fibula and a high ankle sprain in the Titans’ preseason opener.
He’s definitely done for the year. Coach Jeff Fisher suggested Johnson would be healthy in 8-12 weeks, but we doubt it. He’s going on injured reserve.

    Titans waived/injured RB Stafon Johnson.
Johnson will be placed on injured reserve after suffering a broken fibula and dislocated ankle in the preseason opener. The Titans could bring him back next summer as a reward for his dogged determination in fighting through multiple career-threatening injuries

Coach Jeff Fisher confirmed that he intends to bring RB Stafon Johnson (ankle/leg, injured reserve) back next season.
“We have not given up on him. This is the opposite of that,” Fisher said after Johnson was waived/injured. Johnson came back from a life-threatening weightlifting accident at USC and has no plans to give up on his career now. He’ll be back to battle for a roster spot in 2011 training camp.

Alvin Pearman will enter training camp third on the depth chart at tailback, ahead of undrafted rookies LeGarrette Blount and Stafon Johnson.
Pearman won’t be needed on returns with Damian Williams emerging, so he’s not guaranteed a roster spot. Expect either Blount or Johnson to pull ahead in August. Blount could give the offense a different look as a short-yardage battering ram.

Titans rookie RB Stafon Johnson was carted off the field late in Saturday’s preseason opener with what is believed to be a dislocated right ankle.
Johnson got up from a tackle only to see his foot twisted to the wrong side of his body. He’s the USC RB that battled back from a life-threatening weight room accident last season. His former coach Pete Carroll joined him at the cart in a touching moment before he was taken to the locker room. The hard-luck rookie’s season is undoubtedly over.

Titans rookie RB Stafon Johnson will have surgery on his dislocated ankle Sunday.
He’ll be waived/injured early this week. While Johnson was a nice story at USC after coming back from a life-threatening weightlifting accident, he never had NFL-caliber tools. He could return to try to make the team in 2011.
