Ferguson

Ferguson was just acquired as part of a three-team deal at the deadline, but he’ll be waived before playing a minute for New York.

It remains to be seen if Ferguson will be in New York’s plans going forward, but he’s miles off the fantasy radar.

The Knicks send Austin Rivers to OKC as part of the deal. Rivers wasn’t in the rotation and it’s doubtful whether Ferguson will be, either, so there are no fantasy implications here.

Ferguson has appeared in just six games this season, with this being his second lengthy stint on the injury report for health and safety protocol reasons. He isn’t a factor when healthy, so Ferguson should already be on the waiver wire in all leagues.

This is Ferguson’s second stint in the medical protocols this month. He was cleared on January 14th but has only logged five minutes in one game since. His absence shouldn’t change much for fantasy managers.

Ferguson isn’t expected to play much but could get some run if the Sixers blow the Heat out of the gym tonight.

The Sixers are expected to return nearly everyone except Vincent Poirier, Seth Curry and Furkan Korkmaz on Thursday, so don’t expect to see much of Ferguson on the floor.

Ferguson is being listed as out for “personal” reasons and not “health and safety protocols,” so maybe he’ll be able to get back out there for Tuesday’s game vs. Miami (if that game doesn’t get postponed). That said, even when he’s logging significant minutes, Ferguson rarely brings any meaningful statistics to the box score.

Well this doesn’t provide much clarity. Hopefully the 76ers complete their contact tracing soon but if this many players were exposed, we can’t rule out the possibility that this game could be postponed.

It’s nice to know Ferguson’s injury isn’t serious, even if his availability doesn’t impact any fantasy leagues.
