Chargers teammates have nicknamed seventh-round WR Tevin Reese “Sweet Feet” for his speed and acceleration.
“Kid can smoke,” observed backup QB Kellen Clemens. Reese stands just 5-foot-10, 163, but ran 4.46 at the Combine with a 41-inch vertical. “That’s how DeSean Jackson was -- little and fast,” said WR Malcom Floyd. “He shocked the NFL.” Reese is competing for one of San Diego’s final wide receiver spots.

Chargers signed seventh-round WR Tevin Reese to a four-year contract.
Reese is slightly built at 5-foot-9 5/8 and 163 pounds. He was purely a vertical threat in college and may find the transition to the NFL to be a tough one unless he becomes a dynamic special teamer. Reese doesn’t have experience on returns.

Chargers selected Baylor WR Tevin Reese with the No. 240 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
Reese (5-foot-9 5/8, 163) earned first-team All-Big 12 honors as a senior despite missing five games with a dislocated wrist, and finished his career with 187 catches, 3,102 yards (16.6 YPR), and 24 touchdowns. He ran 4.46 at the Combine, adding wildly explosive vertical (41") and broad jumps (11-foot). A poor man’s Kendall Wright, Reese was a college deep threat whose game will have to change in the pros. He’s not big enough to win outside, and doesn’t play with toughness to man the slot. Reese also returned just one kickoff in college, so he lacks special teams experience. Mike McCoy will have to get creative to make Reese work.

    Chargers waived WR Tevin Reese.
Teammate nicknamed Reese “sweet feet” following OTAs, but his impact deteriorated when the pads came on. The rookie packs just 163 pounds onto his 5-foot-10 frame. A Baylor alum, Reese was the 240th overall pick in May’s draft.

Bengals signed WR Tevin Reese to the practice squad.
Reese was the 240th pick in May’s draft by the Chargers. He drew the nickname “Sweet Feet” in the spring thanks to his 4.46 wheels. Unfortunately, Street is extremely undersized at 5'10/163. He’d have to make an impact as a returner.
